A simple butter cake packed with tart apples under a crunchy crumble, served with custard.

Method

Rub butter into flour, add sugar, then eggs and milk.
Spread half in a tin, add apples and cinnamon, then the rest.
Rub the crumble and scatter over.
Bake at 180°C for 50 minutes.
