- Bake the sponge, cool and slice into 3 layers.
- Spread the first with jam and half the custard, add a layer and the rest of the custard.
- Pile on the whipped cream and press the last layer over to form a dome.
- Cover with thinly rolled marzipan, dust with sugar and add a rose.
